Michael Pfahl, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael Pfahl is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sports Administration at OHio University. He previously served on the Management and Marketing faculties of Yonok College (Thailand; http://www.yonok.ac.th/) and the International College at Bangkok University (Thailand; http://www.bu.ac.th). Non-academic work includes various management and sales positions with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Lumberjacks, and Players Management, Inc., a sport marketing and athletic representation firm of which he was co-founder and president.

Dr. Pfahl’s current research interests are primarily conducted from a qualitative perspective and include the convergence of media, technology and sport, environmentalism and sport, and human resource issues in sport organizations. His research has been published in Public Relations Review, China Media Research, Communication Theory, and the Journal of Sport Management.

Dr. Pfahl received his Ph.D. and M.A. from Ohio University’s College of Communication, his M.B.A. from the University of Toledo, and his B.B.A. from Ohio University.
